UCLA Dance Marathon 2011 a Huge Success!!!
After 26 hours of dancing, participants of UCLA’s Dance Marathon finally got to sit down! A couple thank you speeches later, the amount of money raised was announced.
$410,530.68! Such an amazing number! More than last year’s $407,000 record breaking take! The money goes to a number of sources having to do with pediatric AIDS. For all the information, check out http://bruindancemarathon.org
This is an event I donate my time to every year, and since I do the last DJ set before the final 1 hour countdown, I’m always there at the end to see the final push of energy, and the announcement about how much was raised. It’s a very emotional thing, to see so many people, with so much on their plate (college is tough!) donate so much time to help! The passion and enthusiasm shown is inspiring! I’m always honored to be a part of it!
